Generation 1 - Children of John and Theodosia
Generation 1 - Children of John and Isabella
Generation 2 - Children of John Bentley Sharp
Sarah was the 4th child of John and Isabella Sharp who was born in 1884 in Dunedin. She married Thomas Daniel Goodman in 1905 and had four children: Thomas (born 1906), Annie (born 1907/8, died 1977), Doris May (born 1913) and Laura (Tui), born 1926.
Thomas married a lady called Rita and they lived in Dunedin, and apparently Rose saw them quite often. They had three daughters and one son.
Tui met her future husband in Dunedin and they were married in 1948. He came from Invercargill and went to Otago University, training as a teacher. They had five children: one daughter Gay and four sons, including a set of twins. In 1953 he joined the Navy and the family moved to Auckland.
Doris married twice but had no children. Doris and Eileen were friends, being about the same age. Doris was tall, attractive with good features, wore fashionable dresses and worked in a department store in Dunedin. Apparently she travelled to Wellington where she met a married man named Ray Carter who divorced his wife and married her, but he died of cancer and left her with quite a sum of money. She lost contact with the family until she got in touch with Doreen and Eileen some years later and their friendship was revived. Doris had remarried a plumber Horace Knopp (born 1907) and Eileen and Doreen stayed with her once in her flat on the North Shore. Doris died on 25 May 1981 as a result of burns received in a tragic accident at home.
Annie married a man named Alf Waters, but she died on 29 August 1977. Apparently they had two children - Sylvia and Arthur. Annie is buried in Block 269B, Plot 19, Andersons Bay Cemetery. She was a widow aged 69 years at the time of her death, so her husband must have died earlier. Her address was listed as 97 Surrey Street, Dunedin.

Thomas died on 25 August 1935 at Dunedin Hospital aged 62 years, and is buried in Andersons Bay Cemetery (Block 137, plot 119). He was a railway worker.
Sarah died aged 61 on 15 August 1945 at 93 Surrey St, Caversham, Dunedin, and is buried in Andersons Bay Cemetery with her husband.

Their son Thomas Daniel Goodman, occupation Fitter, is also noted as being buried in Block 300, Plot 68, Andersons Bay Cemetery. He was aged 65 and died on 30 July 1971. His wife was Edith Marguarita (known as Rita) who died on 16 August 1972 aged 68, and is buried with her husband. In his will dated 6 May 1938, he gave everything to his wife.
A child, Timothy Goodman, aged 2, died 29 October 1938 is also noted as being buried with Thomas and Sarah Goodman. He was Thomas and Rita's only son but it is not known why the child died.
