Sharp Family

The Sharp family section of this website documents the life of John Edwin Sharp of London, England, his two wives Theodosia Emma Hann and Isabella Mary Ann Hann, and their children (known as Generation 1). John and Isabella emigrated to New Zealand in the 1870s and settled in Dunedin.

Also documented is the family of John Bentley Sharp, his wife Margaret Healy and their seven children (known as Generation 2).

As at 1 July 2010, there were two surviving members of the 2nd generation of Sharps: Desmond and Norrie.

The information here was compiled from "As I Remember It", memoirs by Beverley Sharp, notes by Desmond Sharp and transcript of tapes by Eileen Baker. Also used were books, war records, family documents, birthday books, public records, newspaper items, medical records, photographs and research by Dale Hartle and other members of the family.
